Steel Sled of Blood part 1 – Insanely dangerous metal sled rode by the Short Bus Productions Film Crew


The story behind this sled started one day when I went to Vo-Tech (vocational technical school) in Lebanon Missouri. I got there and the teacher said that we were going to immediately go into the shop to work. So I went in there, along with the few other people who were there, and went to my locker to get my welding gear out (helmet, long sleeve shirt, safety glasses, gloves). I put it all on and started toward my work booth where I would weld all day, practicing for my AWS testing that would be comming up in the next few days. But as I was walking I noticed in one of the trash cans there was an old metal stool in there with the legs cut off. As soon as I saw that stool the thought of a sled came to mind. I pulled it out of there and scraped off all the gum and sun flower seeds that was dried up on the stool, and I brought it over to my teacher. I asked him, with a big smile on my face, if I could take this and turn it into a sled. He just laughed and said, “Go ahead.”. So Immediately I started at drawing up the blue prints for the sled with the stool already in place. The prints took me about an hour to make and once I had them done, I went to the metal room where we keep all of our metal. I grabbed a few pieces and started cutting to the dimensions of the print I drew. Once I had all the pieces cut I curled the front skies to give it a sled like look and started welding.
